Banyan Trees

One of my 2018 goals is to take my nice camera when we go exploring and take pictures of my kids, my family, and the beautiful stuff we get to see! As you can see I have resurrected my blog and I hope to continue taking pictures and updating it! Make sure you add your e-mail address to the box on the right of this page so you can be updated when I have posted a new post! I'll show you guys what we have been up to and all the cool stuff we get to see as we travel!

We tried. We tried again. We have wanted to take family pictures for months now. The fall and winter time was a busy time for me to take photos for other people's families. The weather did not work with us the time we got all ready to take photos in December. FINALLY we did it! While I definitely was not wanting my picture taken today, it happened, and I'm glad it did. Not more guilt for me! Well, maybe a little guilt, because we wanted to send out Holiday cards. Is it too late to send New Year cards in February or March!?

Today we headed down south 20 minutes from our house to the Royal Gardens. Don't you just love the Japanese structures with those amazing tiles?

Hunting No More

Poor little Preston. He used to be his daddy's Texas hunting buddy. He has been very sad lately because he has not been able to go hunting living on this island. He used to love fishing but is now boycotting it until he can go hunting again.

Instead he loves that he is allowed to use a knife and cut up the frozen fishing bait. He will help anyone around with that job.

I took this photo right after I asked Preston if he used both hand sanitizer AND wipes on his hands before getting the chips out of the bag. Hmmm what do you think?

He finally gave in, or got tricked into to holding one of his dad's larger fishing poles.

Fishing ain't just for boys

This is daddy's little fishing buddy. She loves to go fishing with Tyson.

She also loves to run around like a crazy full of energy little girl, speaking in her normal voice... way too loud.

She loves to help in between her running around. She is busy here cutting up some of that frozen shrimp stuff they use in Japanese fishing I had talked about before. Basically it reminds me of dog food.

Rylie does know how to strike a pose! Unfortunately you get to see the reality of being a little girl that doesn't know what to do when there is no bathroom nearby and you don't want to stop the fun... oh boys... they have no idea.

Her go to awkward pose of the head.

LOL This is what the results are when she asks me to take pics of her... many poses!

Daddy's little fishing buddy! Haha her version of fishing is really running around all over the place and then her daddy will tell her to come quick when there is a fish she can reel in!

She caught two fish at once this time!

Her two fish! Yay Rylie!

Fishing at White Beach

One of our family activities here in Okinawa is fishing off the LONG navy boat pier. Bryce has started to love this activity!

Look at the beautiful fish we sometimes accidently find and put back.

Sometimes the water is so clear! Do you see those beautiful yellow fish?

This place is right next to White Beach. There is a small island there that we have snorkeled to before! It's so fun seeing small islands that have no one on them and you can explore them! I found some of the softest sand here!

Japanese fishing is a BIT different than in America. The fishing line has this tube of holes where we open it and put little frozen shrimp in it. The line has 4-6 hooks under that. When you drop it in the water and see fish coming you give it a shake to release the bait. I have caught 4 fish at once doing it this way!

Mistletoe Ballerina

Rylie got to perform her Christmas dance recital as mistletoe! I love that in a crowd Rylie is not afraid to dance her heart out, arms waving around, head bouncing, body twirling.

She loves this costume and got her into the Christmas spirit so much that she went to the presents under the tree and wrote her name on most of the presents. Haha. We love her!
