We do not celebrate Halloween like they used to a long time ago. For my family, the fun part is getting to dress up in costumes!
My kids play in costumes a lot all throughout the year! Last year we were at Tokyo Disney on Halloween and didn't get to do the whole experience, so my kids were so excited to pick out a new costume... especially because they are growing bigger and we need to start passing on costumes!
Halloween is about tradition to me. My mom loved Halloween. Growing up we had a walk in closet full of costumes and mostly accessories for us to just whip together any costume we wanted, mostly as late as an hour before trick or treating! My mom also would make homemade root beer each year, bringing the neighborhood adults to "trick or treat" for root beer! It is so fun to make on Halloween because of the dry ice that creates a smoke like affect!
